The Journey Begins
The Ball Corporation was launched in the USA by George J. Ball in 1905 as a wholesale cut flower operation. The company has grown to colour the world and transform garden dreams into reality all across the globe. Now in its fourth generation of family ownership, every member of the Ball team proudly takes part in finding solutions for the industry – always striving to be the first choice for service.
BALL AUSTRALIA ARRIVAL
Ball Australia was established as a result of the sale of Colegrave Seed in 2001. A 5 hectare production nursery site in Keysborough was set up and became the head office.
After 15 years of growth and positioning itself as a key industry wholesale producer, Ball Australia made the decision to increase the long-term growing capacity and future proof the business by increasing its production capability. The nursery moved to a 16 hectare site in Skye with a purpose designed modern horticultural facility. This has placed Ball Australia as a committed leader and investor into the Australian horticultural industry for today and the years ahead.

OUTBACK PLANTS MERGES WITH BALL
The Ball Corporation was proud to add to its portfolio Outback Plants in 2023. This adds significant strength to the tissue culture program through collaborative relationships with breeders for the commercialisation of their genetics through licensing arrangements that Outback Plants are well known for.
